Pretty cool to go 'back in time', isn't it? It's almost like the ruins of the forum, desolate and silent. I wonder if that's how the ruins of Osgiliath felt...It is also very interesting to see some of our members' posts over there.
Anyways, I'm not sure how long this thread will be open since I'm sure alot of the people here have the link.
Peace

People who no longer know the old ezBoard forum may also not be familiar with the fact that every single topic and every single post made there has been carefully moved to this very forum location.

Snowdog 07-27-2003 11:46 AM

...and that must have taken alot of work to do. The admin sound have gone there and disabled posting priveleges there as a few have posted since the move. Cool the link is there to bring them here.

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 07-27-2003 11:56 PM

Wow. It feels like a mini Osgiliath!

I remember that place. I was hegemonmatt over there. Truthfully, I don't miss it one bit. I'm a big fan of PHP-UBBs, and the new BD suits me rather well.

I was never around when it was on ez boards, however, if you are lucky, you might find the old one througha search engine. I did one day and wow! But I never decided to look around as I thought it wouldn't work. I bet this brings back memories for the older members. I'm thankful we don't have have all those ads though.

EDIT: I noticed that there is a member named RKittle, on the old forum. Is this the Barrow-Wight?

How weird! I can't imagine logging onto that everyday, I wonder how many people who used to go on there are still here...

I wonder if this site will ever change scary thought!

Indeed it is our dear Mr. Wight.

EZBoard is a terrible thing and I've almost stopped going to the forums that use it.
All those pop-up ads are simply too frustrating to deal with.

Arafangwen 07-28-2003 09:57 AM

Alas, I regret to say that I niether, have been around long enough to remember the old site, yet I'm sure I would have liked this current location better if given the chance to experience both.

Eruwen 07-28-2003 10:37 AM

Did you all notice that it only had around 500 registered members? How many do we have now? Like 4000? Very nice site though...for being a really old and deserted one. I have to admit I do like this one better as well.

Hoom! Hom!
Yes! Long long ago I was lured over from the ENTMOOT...

Gorwingel 07-29-2003 08:35 PM

Whoa, at first when I clicked on that I thought it was another forum that was just like ours. I got so freaked out. I am glad that it is only the old version. That one seems a lot messier than this one. One reason I like this forum is that it is so organized and sleak.

Modern History

This thread is also already a history. Since its start the site indeed changed, thus answering Beruthiel's question:

Funnily enough (though now I know better) I was regretful of leaving EzBoard. A man of habit, I am, and I grew used to it, somehow...

Snowdog 12-03-2004 02:30 PM

I still hang about on EZboard, but you have to be an EZ supporter to not get the ads and spyware.

I keep looking about there trying to find my transitory posts of 2000.. ;)

Lush 12-03-2004 09:10 PM

Wow, I was, like, in diapers then... No idea who Tolkien was, even.

(though things haven't improved that much since)

Ainaserkewen 12-06-2004 10:45 AM

I notice that the Languages section didn't last the ice age...

Is it weird that I feel scared of this history? Like a museum, I'm afraid if I touch anything, I'll break it. Does this board still function? I don't know too much about forums except for the ones I use.

It pretty well does :) - I post there once in a while, for nostalgy's sake
