"Walk To Crickhollow" aka "The Fatty Bolger Challenge"

This thread is for those who are walking on the Barrow-Downs, but are too busy or lazy to walk all the way to Rivendell!

Those silly people in that OTHER thread are going to walk a whole 458 MILES, whoa whoa whoa! Come on now, don't kid yourself, if you're anything like me, (and I know you are) you'll never make it.

But with this challenge you only have to walk 73 miles! And you can still reward yourself with a HUGE chocolate sunday! mmmm-mmmmm

SO lets get out there and make Fatty proud!

haha, oh man, i'm not serious about this but couldn't resist a joke. You mods feel free to delete the thread after a day or so

oh, and, I dunno, maybe I need to say outright, i'm not making fun of anybody at all.

Merendis 05-01-2003 10:31 PM

I will accept this challenge! 73 miles is perfect, as I don't want to lose my shape (that being round). Thank you Mho, for giving me this inspiration. Or was it I who inspired you? That's all I have to say, i must get up and start my walking now.

Where would I be without you Mho? Even if you are making fun of me.

Hmmm I do think you are wrong I know I can walk the 458 miles! I am going good ( ) but then again I supose each to his own! Not everyone is lazy .

Mho, sometimes you're just such a doggone cutie that you rival burra himself.

I hate to go off topic, but how does this rival anything that I have ever done?

Oddwen 05-03-2003 04:03 AM

In ME Mayhem, of course...

mark12_30 05-03-2003 07:44 AM

Cuteness, burra. It's all about cuteness. Mho's got you on this one.

burrahobbit 05-03-2003 12:50 PM

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Iarwain 05-03-2003 04:10 PM

Me either.

But who wouldn't love to take the Frodo challenge?

(Approximately) 1000 miles from hobbiton to Orodruin. Middle-Earth is much smaller than it seems. One thousand miles is a little more than walking from Chicago to Denver... I think I'll stick with the Gaffer's Challenge. I'm off to the garden.

I am happy to say that I finally made it past Crickhollow!

I know that I won't make it to Rivendell by Dec, but I might before the DVD Release in Aug

Lyta_Underhill 08-29-2003 09:52 PM

BWAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!! This is great! Makes me feel better for being only 47 miles along on the road to Rivendell! I could just stop in at Crickhollow (when my lazy legs get me there!) and hang out with Fatty Bolger until the Ringwraith knocks on the door...uh, on the other hand, I think I'll start running to get to Rivendell on time!

And I think I read somewhere the Frodo Baggins challenge to Orodruin would be close to 1600 miles. Don't quote me on this though!

Cheers,
Lyta
