Elvish dictionary
Here is a, what I belive, to be a very complete Elvish dictionary for anyone who's interested.

Ardalambion also has very good Quenya-English and English-Quenya dictionaries, and also a list of selected vocabulary divided into categories such as numbers, weapons, nature etc. and of course, the excellent Quenya
course. [ October 09, 2003: Message edited by: vanwalossien ] |
Just to warn people, don't write any fanfics with this Elvish in it to submit to a web site. This Elvish is not Tolkien Elvish and will be rejected from many sites in fanfics. One can even rejected for using Elvish out of the movie. If you want true Tolkien Elvish get the Languages of Tolkien's Middle-Earth by Ruth S. Noel. Just to warn people that like to write so they don't have the same let down as I did.

Silmiel, are you referring to Cibbwin's link or to vanwalossien's links to Ardalambion?
|
I have found a very good elvish site, and a more or less complete translation of most elvish in the films, here

Quettaparma Quenyanna is a decent dictionary - it's certainly the longest English-Quenya that I've seen, though it does still omit a few words and it contains a small number of errors. |
All I am saying is that most Fanfic sites will only take Elvish from The Languages of Middle-Earth. I didn't say it was the most acurate.

Are there any good dictionaries or books on Sindarin? I have looked everywhere and the only thing I found was the book by Ruth Noel.

StarJewel,
The best dictionary and only reliable course I've found for Sindarin so far are located at the Council of Elrond. I believe you have to register to access the Sindarin lessons, however. |
Thank you so much. I am registered at Council of Elrond, and you are right, that is the only decent Sindarin source I have found so far.
