Hey fellow BDers. I have a question for your LOTR infested minds. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] Are the ruins on the rock under the wizard Tolkien related? [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] http://www.wonderlandspace.com/u24.jpg I have found that some of the ruins match Tolkiens work, but unicorns??..... [img]smilies/confused.gif[/img]

Nah. No LOTR unicorns. There are mearas, though, will that do?

Probibly someone didn't bother to read the books(stupid) and copied the runes n' stuff.

The expression on that wizard's face is giving me the grins.

The first, third, and fourth in the top row, and the second in the bottom are Tolkien Runes.

They're runes of the Angerthas

None of the others seem familiar though.

hmm some of themn do indeed look a bit like Tolkien, they could also easily be random general viking/ancient culture rir-offs so hmm hard to say

Well, most Angerthas runes are directly based off of Germanic runes. Sometimes you can find charts of these in dictionaries.

They've put some of the runes backwards, either to make them appear more "fantastical" (as in Sci-Fi/Fantasy), or they've jsut screwed it up. And a couple of those I've never seen before. The sixth one looks vaguely Theban (nothing like Tolkien's), and did you notice that the fifth and eighth are a star and a moon?
