i'm havin' a b-day in....a month and a need help in a small tolkien-ish party(coughs-immature-cough).......ideas please

Let's move this question to the Middle-Earth Mirth forum - you should get lots of fun answers there! Take a look at the other threads there as well - they might have additional ideas for you.

you could have everyone dress like hobbits and elves? and I know there is a thread floating around somewhere with LoTR party favors and such.. heck, you could reinact LoTR in short, if you wanted to.. I'm sure some other people have better suggestions though, my mind is off today [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img] [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Yeah. Have everyone dress as either a species or a specific character, put your invitations in Elvish/English...etc.

Okay, nevermind that.... I agree with all the above suggestions. Maybe decorate the room as Hobbiton or something... there is several things you could do...

Have a Tolkien fest! Everyone has to dress up as one of the fellowship (Arrange this before hand, otherwise you'll have abou 6 Aragorn's or something...) and everyone has to stay in chacter for the whole part (V. amuzing!) Have LotR food as much as possible and fireworks! Alos, whatch LotR, red LotR and anything else you can think of! FUN! [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

To add some ideas to purplefluffychainsaw's post, you could have your cake be made of.... LEMBAS! YAY! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] You could play the soundtracks as music too. Just hope that the people you're inviting are all LOTR fans... [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

You could ask your guests to come in their bare feet.
to enter the party, they have to cut off some of their hair and glue it to their feet.

I wonder if fake elven ears exist, wouldn't that be nice?
