KingCarlton 04-09-2002 04:27 AM

Know Peace

Nevtalathiel 04-09-2002 04:41 AM

I know what they mean, but will it please you if I ask, or would that not be the same?

zifnab 04-09-2002 09:30 AM

I have a question for you elvellon. I see your from Hungary. Does the Hungarian(sp) version of "Fellowship of the Ring", have a different title, of the translation mean something else?

BTW: TTT=The Two Towers/ROTK=Return of the King.

Rimbaud 04-09-2002 09:53 AM

Fellowship of the Ring???

I thought it was Frodo's Over There, Ringwraith!

Raefindel 04-09-2002 09:59 AM

That was good Stephanos. Tell us what the others mean now.

Rimbaud 04-09-2002 10:05 AM

The classic sports movie of the trilogy, Try Tennis, Thorin ...

Rimbaud 04-09-2002 10:11 AM

...and Rap Overthrow of The King.

Birdland 04-09-2002 10:26 AM

LOL Steph! But tell me, what does "TH" and "TS" stand for? Those two always threw me.

Rimbaud 04-09-2002 10:35 AM

Not sure Birdie, but I have a suspicion that HoME might be History of Making Eggnog

On second thoughts, TS may well be JRRT's world famous dessert recipe book, Tirami Su.

Nevtalathiel 04-09-2002 10:59 AM

LOL Stephanos

Raefindel 04-09-2002 12:20 PM

Thank for straightening us all out! LOL!

Bruce MacCulloch 04-09-2002 01:13 PM

Actually, I believe that FotR is Fiddler on the Roof.

Aroaraniel 04-09-2002 03:25 PM

Hahahaha! Gee, I'm not smart enough to think of any on my own...I'm a boring person...hehehehehehehe

Nevtalathiel 04-12-2002 10:47 AM

What is eggnog, and so this doesn't risk being off topic, did they have it in ME?

Galadrie1 04-12-2002 05:04 PM

hmm...eggnog.. let's see... eggnog is gross, that's all i know about it. so, basically, i can't answer your question, and i'm bored, la la la....... hmm.... i'm trying to think of a funny meaning for FOTR, and i'm soooo close, but i can't think of a good word for R that goes with the rest of it... i guess i'm too stupid to do this!

elvellon 04-15-2002 03:41 AM

so, zefnob, finally I've found your message,.
well, they didn't change the title in Hungarian, it means the same-Iguess they tried to leave everything in the original form, which is pretty good.

Rose Cotton 04-15-2002 06:05 AM

Oh, I have a good one. Instead of:

LOL=Lots of laughs

LOL=Lots of Legolas

I know it's lame, but I like it.

Rose Cotton 04-15-2002 06:06 AM

FOTR= Follow odd, tall Rangers

Sorry, thats not very funny.

Eärendil 04-15-2002 07:30 AM

Well, I thought it was...lol

Lots of Legolas, yeah, a good one....

Nevtalathiel 04-15-2002 08:19 AM

TTT is clearly Tall, Talented Treebeard!

KingCarlton 04-15-2002 08:31 AM

Galadrie1 04-15-2002 03:05 PM

lol, Follow Odd, Tall Rangers! that's a good one! i'm still trying to come up with my own.........

Galadrie1 04-16-2002 07:44 PM

hmmmmmm........i always thought the books were a collection of complaints from a tribe of Cannibal Hobbits: "Frodo's Organs Taste Rotten", "Tasteless Took Thumbs" and, uh... ROTK

Nevtalathiel 04-17-2002 10:12 AM

Maybe ROTK is Roast Our TooKs?

pippin_took0 04-17-2002 12:48 PM

ROTK = Run! Orange Toxic Kingsfoil!

Susan Delgado 04-17-2002 12:52 PM

Follow one Thing,(the)Ring
Treebeard's True Testament
I can't think of anything for ROTK at the moment...

Galadrie1 04-22-2002 08:43 PM

hmmm....so far the best i can come up with for ROTK (for my Cannibal Hobbit thing) is Rotting, Old Took Kakes (hey, who said Cannibal Hobbits could spell? )

the guy who be short 06-21-2003 09:52 AM

FotR stands for Fit of the Ranger. You see, what actually happened when Sam questioned Aragorn was that he had a fit. They later edited this out to make him seem more noble, but somehow managed to overlook the title.
TTT stands for The Terrible Twos, referring to Faramirs baby daughter who had just entered her second year of ages. Originally, she had a very important part (she accidentally killed Gollum). This too was edited out, and the title left.
ROTK stands for Return Our Troublesome Kangaroo. This refers to the Hobbits demanding back their town Kangaroo in Hobbiton, which the ruffians had stolen. Tolkien decided that this was a stupid idea, and completely destroyed all evidence of it. Unfortunately, being absentminded as he was, he again forgot the title.

Meela 06-21-2003 02:08 PM

Fry Our Tomatoes, Ranger!

Toast Teacakes, Treebeard!

Roast Our Turnips, King!

Both cast and crew soon became tired of Merry and Pippin's none too subtle way of broadcasting their demands for the on-set canteen.
