I am an increddible fan of legolas and I am looking for a 1000 reasons why he is so amazingly cool. Please help me out but only one rule at the time or this post will get all messed up.
________ R90s |

one: He has a killer aim two: He fights with speed and aggilaty. tree: He's an elf and elf's rule anyway ________ List of Honda motorcycles |
He is royalty but doesn't rub it in all the time. *cough* Aragorn *cough* http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/grommit.gif

okay
1: Hes a prince 2: Hes funny (in the book) 3-1000: WOW!(need I say more?) |
Um, are you talking about the book Legolas or the movie Legolas?
What I gather from this thread is that each person is supposed to post whatever in order. Helkahothion posted 1-3, LePetitChoux posted #4, and elanor_niphredil posted 5-7. I shall post 8-12. The next person should start with 13. Book Legolas: 8. His love of forests. 9. His friendship with Gimli. 10. His Elvish-ness. You know, the way he is always calm, and just Elvish. Movie Legolas: 11. Fighting ability 12. Voice (the accent's cool) |
13. He's always so cool and collected.
14. He seems ready to defend people he knows for whatever reason. Such as Aragorn in the Council of Elrond when Boromir wasn't being too nice. |
|
Yes, Legolas (in the movie) is an incrediblly intriguing character! He's interesting even though he's so horribly ugly and unattractive. That accent makes me want to rip my ears off and bury them in the dust.
|
15. He walks on TOP of the snow!!!
16. He riedes bareback!! 17. He sings!!!!!! (In the book!!!) *swoon* Man I'm tired. Cantcha tell? |
18. He has no written history.
|
Yes he does!!!! He's mentioned in The Book of Lost Tales! He was at the fall of Gondor!!!
|
DarkRose, you'd better be joking about the accent thing.
|
I was kidding about the whole thing. No worries, friend.
|
Legolas is not ugly! With all do respect. It's just that he has such an extraordinary aloof beauty that people cant appreciate. Maybe he is so beatiful(hansome)that it is wierd.
|
You mean too beautiful (if that's the right word) to be possible? Yes, I've thought that many times. . .
|
Well, he is an elf!!!! And elves are beatiful! And he's old! So he's even more beatiful!!!
19. Um . . . He's an excellent shot!!! (Wham! right through 2 orcs! That's what I'm talking about!) |
20. He gets too much ridiculous praise from would-be-stalkers, you gotta love that.
|
Raef! I love that pic!
21. He went "against the norm" and became friends with a dwarf. Now that says something about his character. |
The Legolas at the fall of Gondolin most likely was not the same Legolas as it was a different type of Elf, darling. Just f.y.i.
|
22. He held back the other Elfs from attacking Gimli at the Council!
23. When he gets off his horse in his first scene...WOW what a butt shot!!...he is SO graceful! HAHAHHAHAHA love the pic! Any one who bad mouths MY Legolas shall DIE!!! *draws arrow and prepares to shoot anyone who bad mouthes her fav Elf!* (I loike Orlando over Legolas but still!) |
24. he can see so damn far!
25. he loves to fight ("who can kill most orcs at helms deep game") erm, maybe u shud have put 100 reasons why he is cool, ur never going to reach 1000, this is Leagalos we are talking about, not some massively important person |
26. He likes trees
27. He's not a techno freak (then I realise how much time I spend on the computer, am I a techno freak? NOOOOOO!) |
Oh. He is? I'm confused!!! I thought . . . well . . . yeah. You mean it ISN'T legolas at gondolin? I thought it was. How do you know it's not him? (asked in properly respectful tone of idiot questioning wise person! )
|
He's got pointy ears!! I love pointy ears
|
My friends and i formed this joke when we saw the snow seen in LOTR.
Light on him feet, light on his back. It's dirty and belittling and ITS A JOKE. Orlando Bloom is an incredibly interesting and cool guy. Me and my friends are just sacks of hormones, so don't hate us because we objectify men. Hate us cause you don't know us. Maxdout |
28) He can stab orcs with knives
29) He can use multiple knives to stab orcs with 30) He's tall 31) His name means "Greenleaf" 32) He's Silvan, which is a cool word 33) He's related to Thranduil, who was at the Five Armies 34) He's in the Fellowship 35) He can speak Elvish 36) He's insanely sweet with a bow 37) He's immortal 38) He's not a scardy-cat (like Gimli) 39) He's loyal 40) He's persistent 41) He's unique! |
Well, it was a different type of Elf. It was one of the Noldor and the Legolas we all know and love was Silvan. Very different there. There are thoughts that it may have been a reincarnation, but that is very unlikely, as he most likely would have been reincarnated as the same type of Elf because, well, that's just how it works!
|
Oooooh. Thank you!!! Very much!!!! Man, everyone here knows so much! I feel like an empty pitcher waiting to be filled with Tolkien knowledge! Wheee! Muchas gracias.
|
No problem! I was new here last February. I know how you feel. I was looking around thinking, "Oh my Goddess...how will I ever get any respect with all of these intelligent people?!"
I am still not sure about the "respect" part, but people are nice to me and seem to listen to me now. |
OMG. I cannot believe I am posting on this topic. But I do have a reason. So here goes...
42. He reminds me of an Angel sent from Heaven to bless our glorious lives... http://www.theorlandobloomfiles.com/...okmark2sml.jpg |
43. In the movie, he walks and runs exactly like I thought eleves would. Very cat-like. LOVE IT!
|
Movie Character
44. The fact that the actor who plays him seems to be...erm...not the most graceful cat on the fence, but he still managed to get a grace about him as Legolas. Oh, have you heard what the other actors say about him on the Extended Edition DVD of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings? I fell off my couch laughing... 45. He made friends with a Dwarf and got him able to sail over the sea with him (used his royal power maybe). How about another one that is, "1000 Reasons Why Christopher Lee Is Great"? I love him after hearing him speak and hearing the other actors talk about him in the commentaries... |
Just had to throw it in there:
Reason #46: He's bilingual, trilingual maybe. (Gotta love that elvish) *Where did the Silvan elves come from? I was under the mistaken impression (and I apologize to my friends who now are too because of me) that the elves of Mirkwood split off from the elves of Lorien but where origionally Noldor. Something said while in Lorien in FOTR made me think that. (Sorry, I can't remember exactly what or I'd be more specific.) And thank you, oh great one wise in the ways of the Elves who answers questions. |
