LOTR meets ALW

I couldn't help but thinking what would happen if somehow all the LOTR characters met/ turned into the people from various ALW musicals...

Gollum as the Phantom?

"Sing once again with us, precioussss, our strange duet! Our power over you, gollum gollum growsss stronger yet. Yesss, precioussss. And though you turn from ussss to glance behind, preciousss, preciousss, the Phantomses of the nasty little Opera is there, inside preciousss' mind!"

Ha ha! That's brightened my day (or night, as it is)!

Strangely enough, I can just imagine Tom Bombadil as Skimbleshanks.....I mean, they're both extremely happy and they sing alot...

Antien 03-07-2003 01:00 PM

Can you just imagine it...elrond as rum tum tugger...arwen as victoria...pippin as mr. mistofflees...imagine the possibilities...

p.s. i know silabub personaly(the person who started this topic, not a cat)anyway she is obsessed with brodway and alw stands for andrew lloyd webber(if you didn't know)
DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT ASK HER ABOUT BRODWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sillabub 03-07-2003 01:03 PM

Ha ha very funny. By the way, you spelt Broadway wrong

Antien 03-07-2003 01:05 PM

Funily enough, silabub is sitting beside me on a school computer.

maybe...or maybe tom should be joseph, colourful clothes, singing all the time, strange insights?

"I look handsome, I look smart"

Aragorn as Simba, of course, in The Lion King.
Eru can be Andrew Lloyd Webber himself, overseeing and directing from behind the scenes.
Maybe Eowyn could be Eliza from My Fair Lady. Faramir as Higgins, then, and Aragorn would be Freddy in this one. Granted, I'm taking some liberties with roles here.
The whole Fellowship could be Five Guys Named Moe.
Gandalf as Jean ValJean from Les Miserables? Or maybe it should be Elrond, then Arwen could be Cosette, her mother (Celebrian? Is that right?) as Fatine, and Aragorn as Marius.
Sorry if I'm a little shady on some names.

I thought that role was reserved for Saruman?

true, true....

Perhaps Boromir as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar though I have no more character associations for it.

Maybe all the hobbits in the Scouring of the Shire could be like the orphans in Oliver!. And I realise that isn't Andrew Lloyd Webber, but Cameron Mackintosh produced it, and he produced a lot of ALW's shows.

Sillabub 03-10-2003 04:10 PM

I can imagine Eowyn as Eponine, and oddly enough Elrond reminded me of Enjolras...(I KNOW they're not ALW but oh well)And Arwen would make an excellent Bombalurina, and Aragorn would be a good RTT (an excuse to hate Aragorn even MORE!)And for an odd reason or other I can just visualize Galadriel as Victoria. And gandalf as old Deuteronomy !

fraul 03-17-2003 01:28 PM

Boromir as Pilate? They both act good at first (the dream, the begginning of the fellowship) then turn more evil (the exicution thingee and Boromir trying to steal the ring)

Silibub is also sitting right beside me right now.

Sillabub 03-17-2003 01:35 PM

awwwww...saying that takes the fun out of it!

Anyways, Legolas would make a reaaally good Tim Rice (or maybe that's just my sense of humor) and Goldberry as Patti Lupone (save the fact that Patti Lupone played Evita, which doesn't really suit Goldberry)
