Which scene?
Which scene in the movies are looking foward to the most? I'm looking foward to see the fight between Gandalf and The Balrog Of Moria the most.

www.theblackchasm.com

Oooooeeeeee!

Got to admit, that scene is at or near the top of my list (depending on what mood I'm in!

But from the photos, etc., and my own preferences, I think that scenes of The Shire will linger longest for me.

Barrow-Downs~Bare Bones~Tar Ost-in-Eruhir~Grand Adventures~The Hobbits~Tolkien Trail

Re: Which scene?

Definitely the Battle of the Pelennor Fields!
...he heard Theodred's great voice cry "To me, Eorlingas!"

Re: Which scene?

Mmmmm, I could go on forever. The scenes in Bree will be a comic relief, Moria scenes will be an exciting episode, and the scouring of the shire(if they have it) will be something I'm sure, and the Ents attack on Isengard,Saruman is defiantly evil looking.
Sam
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons.
Re: Which scene?

Keep yer lousy battle scenes! I can't wait for the hobbits to meet Strider in Bree for the first time!! And of course, there is Rivendell...Elves, Elves, and more Elves...

-réd

"He was as noble and as fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer."

-A Short Rest, The Hobbit

Re: Which scene?

I'm really anxious to see the portrayal of Lothlorien too!
...he heard Theodred's great voice cry "To me, Eorlingas!"

Scene

After the audience has booed Arwen for appearing instead of Glorfindel, then cheered to see the first kiss a minute later...

I look forward to the scenery of the Shire, Rivendell, the trip from Rivendell to Khazad-dum, Lothlorien, Ithilien. I am putting some faith in the composer(s) to come up with good music in Rivendell and Lothlorien. Legolas might even be a good singer under the trees of Lorien. The music during the celebrations in Gondor near the end should be terrific, as well as the music at the Grey Havens.

When Strider meets Frodo at the Prancing Pony. If this scene is not done well, it will be a great disappointment. I want to see a very sinister-looking Strider turn hero in the blink of an eye.

The Battle at Helms Deep.. I wish I could direct the computer animation for that scene.

When I read that for the first time I couldnt stop.. Imagine almost pitch darkness when you are sitting up in the walls of Helms Deep. You can see anything.. there is a storm and the lightning comes down in short bursts and for that breif moment you an army of orcs coming at you, so many that the ground below is black like a hoard of ants coming at you. Some orcs holding there weapons in the air yelling.. pure fear.

I really hope that they portray that battle well.. it would be my favorite except for at the battle of the Pellenor seeing the huge catapults unleash huge balls of fire that come exploding into the city and seeing the Nazgul fly above with complete hopelessness in your heart. Tolkien explained those battles so well that I want to go and re-read them each time I think of it.
"Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends."

Gandalf You're scaring me. Sounds good, Oh wait what about when Mt Doom blows it's top. Now that will be an awsome scene, and then the scene after that when Frodo comes back to what he was(I hope they have that scene), ahhhh talk about touching, then the Grey Havens. Whoaaa peoples bring the Kleenex, but I deffiantly think that the Shire scenes will be the best(you get to here the four Hobbits singing and I hear that two of the hobbit actors(boyd and wood)have beautifull voices).
Sam
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons. For you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

The battle scenes are obviously a must, but as for a favorite scene I'm very hard pressed to choose. I mean there are so many good ones! Rivendell, Bag End, Lothlorien, Gondor, Fangorn, Isengard the list goes on!

Not to mention all the happenings at these places.

I think for me I will have to say "I want to see everything!"

LionPixie 07-22-2001 11:30 AM
Scene

When real eagles, trained to pick up Elijah Wood, fly to a real volcano at the time of a real eruption.

(Not sarcasm, just wondering now how Jackson will choose to pull it off.)

The black riders on horseback will be fun. On the pteradactil, or whatever, will be interesting. (OK, how DO you spell pteridactile?) The creature on a thrashing Snowmane makes me think of movies of the 1950s. Clay-mation.
