Wormtounge

You know that tear Wormtoungue has rolling down his cheek in ttt when he looks at Saruman's army? I have heard a bunch of opinions on why he had it, like he was amazed at the army, or sad cuz he realized he was destroying his whole race, what do you guys think it means?

Grimbold 02-04-2003 03:51 PM

He was blown away by the size of the army, shocked and terrified to tears by the extent of his master's plans. I think the emotion would roughly be an extreme "HOLY ****!"

I never really thought of it as a tear. It happens when he is with Eowyn, and to me gives the same impression that a worm crawling from the eye socket of a skull would. there is nom way that he is crying.

I think that he's finally realised what hes got himself into. Originally it was a work for Saruman get Eowyn kind of plan with a few deaths along the way. When he sees the army I think he realises what hes done. after all, he's not the powerful evil, never feel bad type, he is just a slimy creep and however horrible they are, they do feel bad sometimes.

I agree 100% with Findorfin. It's a "what have I done" look.
H.C.

Yeah, he was shocked that he actually done, or contributed to something useful in his life. Useful if you are a megalomanic, pyschotic villian that is.

It was a tear? He cryed? I'm confused.. I agree with al the others though, he was shocked at what he had done to his people. At least, that is my opinion...
Suilad,
~Eruanne

Guys, we all know what Worm is going to (supposed to) do in the next film. This is the first beat in the turning of his character, eventually building to the moment he attacks Saruman. I am completely convinced of this.
H.C.
