Minas Tirith, by far. It was great, especially since I had a hard time visualizing it myself. Lothlorien was amazing, but some of the lights almost seemed...electric. I know they were, obviously, but they weren't supposed to seem that way. And I just didn't visualize Rivendell surrounded by so many waterfalls and things. But that's just me, I still liked it.

Hobbiton, especially Bag End. That was exactly how I had pictured it! It was just perfect, right down to the round green door.

Beruthiel 11-19-2002 12:18 AM

I thought Bag-End was perfect! the green door and everything!
I thought Lothlorien was a bit fake, especially that bit when they are climbing up to see Galadriel and Celeborn.
Rivendell was pretty good but I didn't think it would have so many waterfalls either cuz I thought there was just gonna be a river.

I know we haven't seen much of it but, the scene of Edoras in the trailer looks just how I thought of it. I know it's not a city but Orthanc was spot on.

Orodoliel 11-19-2002 01:40 PM

I disagree about Orthanc. I think it was too short and dark. But the picture n my head probably looks nothing like anyone elses

the phantom 11-19-2002 01:55 PM

The shire looked great, Rivendell wsa just like I pictured it, and Moria was sweet!! Moria is the one place in the movie where I thought they actually did a better job than my imagination.

Helkahothion 11-20-2002 02:20 PM

yes I agree with orodoiel. The book sayd it was shaped by nature and looked like human craft. But this ortanc was plain human craft and had nohing to do with nature at all.
Damn thos evil special effect's producers from hell!!!

Actually, Orthanc WAS just how I thought it would be. Maybe you will change your mind when TTT comes out. The Shire was dead on how I had imagined it. The Prancying Pony ,also.

Arwen Imladris 11-20-2002 03:40 PM

Rivendell. Perrrfect!

Brinniel 11-20-2002 05:51 PM

The Shire was just how I imagined it and Rivendell was fairly close.

I didn't like how The Prancing Pony was done, though. I had always imagined it a bit more cheerful.
