I've never read or seen Harry Potter, and I don't want to. To me it looks nothing like LotR or anything that I would like for that matter. So I would definetly choose LotR over HP.

Sam and Frodo are both my favorite hobbits, I couldn't choose one over the other. BTW, is Gollum a hobbit? I know Gandalf said he was of a hobbit kind, but is he an actual pure-bred hobbit?
