Wouldn't the plusses of crossbows cited above...Wouldn't the plusses of crossbows cited above make them advantageous also, not just for dwarves and orcs, but also for the comparatively advanced technology of Gondor? Useful in defending cities... |

I would think a devastating dwarf weapon, especially for use against cavalry would be something akin to the Swiss halberd. Obviously shortened for Middle-earth dwarf use. |
