By saying "which is certainly NOT Elrond", are you saying that I am incorrect in answering your question, or are you saying that Elrond is NOT a descendant of Earendil? No big deal if I'm incorrect in answering the question, but Elrond is certainly a descendant of Earendil the Mariner. Elrond and Elros are the sons of Earendil and Elwing, daughter of King Dior. (At least according to the family tree of the House of Beor and the Mortal Descent of Elrond & Elros. I don't have my books with me, but I've found this on the Cabed-en-Aras website.)

I'm just confused and looking for clarification to your statement <img src=tongue.gif ALT=":b"> !

At any rate, since Earendil is the forefather you are looking for, and the father of Elros, I'm going to guess that the answer you are looking for might be Aragorn II.
