Thanks, Gandalf, I thought that I had noticed that one myself. Then someone in another thread informed me that St. Francis would have worn
black robes, as was the
Flavour of the Monk in his particular time and place. I had to bow to their seemingly superior knowledge. Can anyone resolve whether brown or black robes would have been worn by St. Francis, or at least what Tolkien would have believed?
