She frantically tries to leap to the other crag of ice (the one with her parents) but barely makes it, and is hanging on by her fingers. Elenwë leans over and manages to grab Idril and swing her over onto the ice, next to Turgon, who grabs her, but in so doing, she loses her balance, and falls into the icy water.
