A 30-pound bow is usually all right for a relative newcomer to archery. I take regular archery lessons, and I use a 30-lb. bow with a fair amount of ease. Lyta, if you're going to actually take the bow about, I would highly recommend that you not try to actually shoot it unless you're in an archery range, or you know that you're absolutely alone.
