Haikus are hard. Try in a foreign language, for one. In finnish, every word has twise as many syllables, And I know not how finnish OR english compare to japaneese in this regard.
Not to mention the 5-7-5 syllable stucture is only one of the 3 requirements.
We all write "incorrect" haikus. True haiku is primarily a work of visual art. It is supposed to form a picture. It can have no soul searching, verbal tricks or philosophy. Also, it should ideally include all 4 seasons or otherwise encompass the passage of time.
I'm really proud of the earlier one of mine.
As attempts go, it's not bad.
