Wow, Elora! That's one impressive draft! Congratulations, you're the first person to drive me to dig my old 1970 full color Middle Earth map out of storage. Beautiful, gorgeous thing! Hee hee! You know, the one with the nine walkers at the top and the evil hordes at the bottom, giving chase, and ten little circles showing key locations from Hobbiton to Mount Doom.

Anyway, I can't find Dead Man's Dike. where exactly is that?

As to the lair of the enemy, there's something elegant about your choice of near Lake Nanuiel. It's not what I first had in mind, though. Still, I'm willing to alter my first thought. Here's what I had been thinking; let me know what you think: the Black Numenorean is creating a realm from The Bay of Forochel in the north, to the River Lhun in the west, to southern reaches of the Hills of Evendim in the south, to the North Downs in the east. Lake Nenuial and Fornost are outposts that are currently kept under guard, and from which scouts are sent out regularly to capture wanderers and sneakers (how they missed Falowik is hard to say - just yet) :P Just lucky, I guess. Anyway, I had had it in my mind that the actual Lair was at the north end of the Hills of Evendim, which could be more rugged than the map shows.

This set up does two things that yours doesn't (so far): (1) makes the Black Numenorean's power greater; it would have to be in order to be spread that widely (2) makes the journey longer. I like (1), but (2) may be asking too much. What do you think?

By the way, everything else is really, really awesome plot development. Fair Dinkum, matey!
