Imladris and Daniel,

I was planning on letting each player decide his or her character's rank, unless you'd really like me to intervene. However, I would recommend lower ranks, as both of your characters are very young (even younger than Captain Anhelm's surprising age of 28). Perhaps, Imladris, Jarlyn (name-change?) would be a little higher, since he apparently got into the military, as you said, riding on his father's money.

That said, I'll leave it up to you.
