Meneli lands on the shores of Valinor. She looks around for Legolas. Soon, she finds him in a grove.

"Legolas," she calls, "It is me!"

He silently comes over and stands in front of her, "Well?" Legolas says.

"Ummm...well, we are married and all and...well...I guess you loved me sometime, because you married me. And well...what happened? Why don't you love me now? Why? That's why I have been wondering. And, if you never loved me as you claimed, why did you marry me? I bore you many children...was that the reason? I do not understand it. I've been trying to...for years and years and years. Ever since I last saw you. Why? Why, why, why? Is there a reason? Why did I come is another question. I don't know what I expected. I don't know anything anymore. I don't know-I don't know..."

She trails off and starts crying. She falls to the ground crying. The hard look in Legolas's eyes disappears and he drops to her side, comforting her.

She cries on his shoulder for some time, then he helps her up, and they just walk, silently, through the woods.

"You know, I still love you..." Legolas whispers, "It's just...different. You have your world and I have mine."

"But it doesn't have to be that way," Meneli exclaims, not in a whisper at all, "It used to be that we had the same world."

"Yes, but things change," Legolas said, still whispering, "That's what's the problem. We change. You can't seem to accept that."

"That's because I don't have to accept it," Meneli said, loudly, "We can change things again! You can change! I can change!"

"It's not that simple! Can't you see that? Or are you really as stupid as you seem?" Legolas exclaimed, raising his voice too.

"I am not stupid! I just believe in love! Love isn't stupid!"

"It is when you are expecting it to last for eternity, as we will!"

"Oh! What's the use? I just came to make up and here we are fighting again! I should have never come!"

Meneli starts to walk off, but Legolas runs after her.

"Where are you going?" Legolas demands.

"Home...wherever that will be. Maybe with Estelawinyawen...she has her own palace now. She wouldn't mind if her mother moved in with her and her husband. By the way: they're happy!"

"And we are not?"

"Do you call this happy?"

"No..."

"Exactly!" Meneli exclaimed.

Legolas stopped to think. He began slowly, "Maybe it's not all your fault, like I keep telling myself it was...maybe...maybe I am to blame as well."

"Now was that so hard?" Menelduliniel asked, patting him on the shoulder.

"Yes...it was actually," Legolas said, glaring at her a bit, but with laughter in his eyes.

"So...we are making up after, what? About 50-100 years?"

"I guess..."

"So we're fine again? You love me again?" Meneli asked hopefully.

"I always loved you," Legolas said, in an even tone.

They continued to walk through the woods, speaking of days gone by...
