Uh..according to Beowulf and certain old legends elves are supposed to be spirits. In Elfquest and Everquest they are a race of short, large eared, three fingered little warriors.
I guess Tolkien is the one who introduced elves as human like, tall, wise and noble creatures.

That's two virtues Nev and Aman couldn't possible have or even fake. [img]smilies/evil.gif[/img]
