Elanor looked in wonder at Elwyn. A glow radiated of her, strengthening her. The elf must have power in her blood to fight against this dark power.
Taking a deep breath, the witch draggedher eyes away from Elwyn and looked around the corner again. In the room she couldnt see much but shadows, but saw that they were moving away from the trio. Closing her eyes, Elanor let the dark pulse move inside her, and let herself move into it. She felt the intentions of the sorcerer...and she felt the strength of his power.
It called to her. It knew she held power of her own. Yet wouldnt it be so much better to join her power with it, to use the dark arts that had always been inside her...
She opened her eyes with a shudder as soon as she had found where they were moving to. But she knew with a sinking feeling that no matter how quietly they followed, the sorcerer knew they were coming. So why hadnt he raised the alarm?
She knew the answer; he was playing with them.
Muttering a curse under her breath the witch turned to her friends. "He is going to the great hall. It is but two corridors from here- if we move quickly we can reach it before them."
Ransom shifted his grip on his pikestaff in anticipation. "An ambush? Perfect."
Elanor grinned at him. "Absolutely. In their own habitat too. Come on, lets go."
She turned to Elwyn, whose aura dispelled the darkness around her. It comforted her somehow.
"I didnt know you could play at my game Elwyn."
The elf smiled serenly at her. "I play as far as the repelling of darkness my friend. Strange considering how Mithwyn-" She seemed to catch herself and stopped. Elanor raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
