Georeliela fell to the ground crying. Her precious Emilia was gone. She lay on the ground in pain from the vicious whippings. She had lost her son, then her freedom and now she had lost her daughter. She saw other women sitting in corners crying, for they had also lost their children. Georeliela saw Farien sitting in a corner. *She must have also had her child taken away* Georeliela thought. She walked over to Farien and sat next to her. Farien looked at her with pain in her eyes. “I’m sure they are ok, they probably took them away so they wouldn’t see us get torched! It’s for the better… I hope” Georeliela said. She took Farien’s hand and held it. They both sat there in silence.

The huge boulder opened and there stood a huge, dirty orc. He walked in, and kicked a women laying on the side. “I’ve come to tell ya all that ya children are ok” he said in a deep voice. He coughed and flem flew everywhere. He took a packet and opened it. Inside the packet there were two huge pieces of bread. He broke a tiny piece of bread off and handed it to a woman “I would’ve eaten it all but the master told me to give ya each a piece”. He handed everyone a bite size piece and he ate the left-overs. “Well I’ll be off now, ya wont be seeing ya children for a while” he said as he was walking out of the room.

Georeliela ate her piece of bread and savoured the rest of it. She looked at Farien and gave her a smile.

Emilia got up and looked for Telmir. There stood the tall boy. She could see he was older than the rest of them so she trusted him in a way and felt safe. She wanted to become friends with him, maybe he could be a brotherly figure, to her. She found him talking to someone. “Telmir, I want to back to my mother” she said. “Oh don’t worry we will be back with them soon” Telmir said knowing it wasn’t true even though he liked to think it was. Telmir could see Emilia was a strong girl and he knew she would be one of them (like him) to make it out.

Emilia reached into her pocket and took out a small packet of biscuits. She handed them to Telmir and whispered in his ear “maybe we could share it with everyone when we all get very hungry”. He smiled and put it in his pocket keeping it for the hard times. There would be enough for all the children if they broke it up…
