All players:
The Barrow Downs was hard to access day before yesterday – but the problem has now been fixed. So let’s get the game back on track.
Novnarwen has brought the group to their first camp, which should be on the edge of the forest of Lorien, up against the mountains. Go ahead now and place your making-camp posts directly on the Game.
Wait then for Novnarwen and/or Orofaniel to move the group onwards to the path that climbs up to the pass over the mountains from east to west.
Then, the next game day will find your group heading up into the mountains toward the Red Horn Pass, Caradhras will be to the south of you. You are walking along the course of the Silverlode River, and will come to the Mirrormere, where the entrance to Khazad-dûm is, the way that the Fellowship passed through from the east moving westward.
Just beyond the Mirrormere is a steep winding path, sometimes crumbling away, that goes up to the Redhorn Gate (Pass). It is called the Dimrill Stair, as it passes up from the Mirrormere in “an endless stair of short (water) falls” (FotR).
Gandalf mentions that it would take the Fellowship more than two marches to reach the top of the Pass. The way will be snowy, the pass is quite high, and there may be creatures lurking about . . .
