Khôrbar quickly rose and pulled Airerûthiel to her feet before the girl could respond. He drew his sword and looked down the passage that the others now peered down. A rustling noise came. Shelob was moving, and it sounded like she was coming closer. Khôrbar looked around. This passage was wider. If they went down the other passage, they would probably be forced to travel in single file. If they stayed here, however, they may be able to fight her more than one-on-one. Fighting together was the only way they could hope to win.
"Stay here," Khôrbar whispered, getting in battle position. He saw the others were preparing their weapons as well.
The sharp-sighted Elves could almost make out a shape deep in the darkness, moving towards them. Soon she would be upon them, and the success of their quest would be determined, all within this one decisive battle...
