Nori looked at the cobwebs surrounding the entrance to the paths and shivered. This reminded him of the stories his father had told him of King Thorin Oakenshield and the spiders of Mirkwood.
Without realising he was doing it he removed his battle axe from his belt and gripped it tightly with both hands, he felt a little more comfortable now he had it in his hands.
He looked to the rest of the company, giant cobwebs hadn't seemed to phase any of them, maybe they don't know of giant spiders he thought. As he turned back he noticed that Falin now had his weapon in his hand and was looking around nervously.
Not wishing to panic the group prematurely, he whispered to Falin "Attercop", of course reffering to the insult the thief Bilbo Baggins had called the spiders in the afore mentioned story. Falin nodded saying "one if we're lucky", Nori gulped at the thought that there might be more than one.
He gripped his axe a little tighter and looked to Falin for instruction.
