Tallin watched the girl in frank astonishment before a smile started over her face. The girl made a refreshing change.

"Tallin!" A yell of pain shot into the wolftamers mind like an arrow and she turned quickly to see both wolves coming towards her. A long cut had been added to the other wound on Dia's side...She gritted her teeth grimly and reached for a dagger.

"No time Tal." Jet reached her side, panting heavily. "Night elves. Coming...from the town. They...we..." He was gasping for breath and faded off.

Night elves...Tallin turned to the group, beckoning Raye and speaking quietly.

"You think it was a good idea to leave our horses behind?"

"We've been through this. theyre at the bottom of the food chain Tallin. Trust me."

"I know. But we could move at a quicker pace if we were riding."

"Do not dwell on these things, wolf tamer. Let us go to the others now and inform them of our need to make immediate leave-"

An arrow buried itself above Rayes head as Tallin pulled her down. "Immediately may not be soon enough."

"Night elves!" Raye cursed. "Not something I want to deal with."

"I dont think we have much of a choice!" Tallin smiled grimly. A thousand questions buzzed in her head; why were the night elves out here? And why so vicious? She hadnt thought the stories were true.

She ran to get the others. The wolves stood beside Raye, ready to leap and tear, and Raye with her sword held high.

"No!" Tallin yelled. "We have to get out of here Raye!"

The murderess glared at her but saw the reason in this. She kept her sword our though as she ran to Tallin and the pair of them sprinted to the others, dragging them up.

"Come on! Quickly!" The group started away through the trees, in order to be less obstructive. The round faced young girl hovered uncertainly, her eyes wide. Tallin took her in in a moment; there wasnt time to waste.

"Come, girl. Right now Im not worried about introductions." She said, stopping the girl from speaking as she opened her mouth. "Just about there actually being time for them, or anything else in this life..." She muttered as the ran after the others. This was not the last theyd see of the night elves, and she hated to run away. But no one who hurt her wolves was going to get away with that...
