"The name's Fin. Findorfin" he replied. "Elf traveller and adventurer." He slid into the pew next to her and relaxed.
"Where do you come from, my lady."
Sarah blushed, she had never been called a lady before and had only just rebuked herself for looking so unlady-like.
"Why you exaggerate, Fin!"
"Not so," came the reply.

Another dog barked and was silenced, "what is all that about?" Fin commented.
"I don't know," Sarah replied, "maybe something is troubling them."
"Yes," Fin mused, "there must be something afoot. Excuse me, my lady."
Sarah bowed as the handsome elf left her table and moved toward the bar.

"Dwarin," Fin called, hoping the dwarf would here from in whatever room he was 'out back'.
"Yes what now," came the angry reply.
"I would like a word."
"Come through!"
Fin was startled that Dwarin would let him behind the counter but followed the voice and came through into a cellar-like room. Dwarin was busy moving the ale kegs, "give me a hand would you? Those ale merchants just left them in the middle. No thought to their customers." Fin assisted and they were all soon put into thir correct places.
"Now what is it," the dwarf asked, still irritable, “for I have precious little time for pleasantries.”
Fin laughed, “now calm yourself Dwarin, I was wondering whether you new of any trouble around these parts. The dogs seem to be sounding a lot more pensive than in recent times. And those hobbits just drag on their collars until they’re silent. It seems most unusual to me.”
