A tall man with laughing blue eyes strolled casually into the pub and leant onto the counter. He smiled widely and snapped his fingers to get the barperson’s attention.
“Good sir. One pint of your strongest ale, please.” When he had his drink he walked to a table and sat down, leaning against the comfy seatback.
He took a look around. The pub was packed. All manner of people were crowded inside, sipping drinks, talking, arguing and just sitting looking hostile. Especially young, ‘amazingly beautiful’ female elves. They didn’t seem a very happy bunch.
“Ahh well,” sighed he as he surveyed the scene. You always got a multitude of supposedly dangerous types, glaring out from under their hoods, fingering their blades and generally trying to look mysterious. He didn’t go in for that. He wouldn’t say his name until someone asked, but he’d start a conversation. Hmm, who looked most unapproachable? He picked up his half drunk ale and went over to a young elf of unknown gender.
“Mind if I sit with you?” he inquired cheerily. He got a glare that could melt steel, but sat down anyway, extending a hand.
“Come here often do you?” he asked, knowing he would get a snub as an answer, but trying anyhoo.
