Here is a character description for Eärnil:
Name: Eärnil
Age: 10
Race: Man; Dúnadan
Description: Black hair, ear lobe length; grey eyes; gangly, like a young colt. Dark tights, tunics, calf high black leather boots. Grey cape.
Personality: Inquisitive, confident child, with an engaging manner. Comfortable among adults. Enjoys playing out naval battles with the small fleet of wooden ships his Uncle Tarannon sent him several years ago as a birthday gift. Strength: Keen, analytical mind for one so young; charming. Weakness: Lack of depth of knowledge – he is after all only ten; and because he is so young, and life has been kind to him, he can be too trusting.
History: Born in Minas Anor to Tarcyrian, the younger brother of King Tarannon and Miriel of Belfalas. At age five, his family moved to Edhellond at the mouth of the Morthond-Ringlo, where Miriel’s family was located. Tarciryan became the representative from the King to that region and cemented the good relations now enjoyed by the two cities of Minas Anor and Dol Amroth. A favorite pastime of Eärnil was to have his father take him to the dock in Edhellond to see the great White Elven ships as they set sail for the West.
Eärnil has been tutored by scholars in Dol Amroth – He can read and write, and has an affinity for history and mathematics. He will come to the court in Minas Anor to further his education in the social and political skills necessary to navigate the treacherous waters of court life.
In time, he will become his uncle’s heir to the throne of Gondor – the thirteenth King of Gondor and her second Ship-king.
As for now, though, he is only a young boy with a penchant for old stories and a liking for playing at war with his little ships.
