OK...how about Elven years?
Thanks to Elrond being half elven, those of his twin brother's line (Elros, the 1st king of the Numenoreans) got blessed with very long life. Aragorn gets to be 120 before he passes.
I don't think hobbits are foolish, unless yo're a Took!
