What we have now is a lot of new excited aficianados that are still in their first stages of appreciation of the master's works. It's all part of the ebb and flow and we owe Peter Jackson thanks (whether heartfelt or sarcastic, depending on your point of view) for the latest influx of Tolkien lovers.
