And I don't see how thinking the movies unnecessary is an example of an extreme opinion,or why this has to be seen as provocative. I am aware Tolkien himself was not adverse to possible adaptations of his work,and that's all well and good. But I am not he,and simply don't think it should be done. <br> The primary purpose of writing things here is of course to express opinions. Taking issue with the opinions of others is fine. If everyone agreed all the time things would be pretty boring. But the "whiners" label got applied early on,and I just didn't feel there was any need for it,regardless of how strongly one feels about a certain topic. <br> <br> And TLW,by "one or two" I was thinking of myself and you. The only ones I knew of. <p>Those who will defend authority against rebellion must not themselves rebel. </p>
