Your patience amazes me, Knight. I watched the whole thing in one go, pausing only to switch DVDs. Yeah, I sort of still prefer the theatrical version's beginning (except that I liked seeing Sam gardening) for the reasons you mentioned. I just really liked them going from the Misty Mountains to Frodo reading a book with "The Shire...60 Years Later" across the screen.<P>But the new beginning does improve on further viewings.
