I am glad you brought this up, gayare'dion. I, too, noticed the bond between Merry, Pippin, and Boromir. It did seem that Boromir went out of his way to spend time and protect the two hobbits, more so than any other character.<P>Of course Frodo and Sam were close with Merry and Pip, but that goes without saying. Aragorn seemed to be closer to Frodo, Gandalf closer to Frodo, Gimli closer to Frodo [["You are full of surprises, Master Baggins!" and etc]]], Legolas was close to them all at the same level, except for Gimli, which the movie didn't portray.<P>It was very touching to see Boromir grow close to Merry and Pippin, because it helped enhance his character. Without the encounters between Boromir and the two hobbits, and without the random talks Boromir has with Aragorn, I bet the audience would have seriously disliked Boromir. <P>Thank goodness for that friendship, eh?
