I would heartily agree. I would summarize it like this: He attempted to create a mythos that pointed to the Truth (he states also that the Gospel is the one completely true Myth) in order to draw those who heard the story to pursue that truth, simply by reading his Tale.
In my case he most certainly succeeded.
