I remember going to see the Bakshi film when it first came out. I must have been about 7, and I'd just about read LotR for the first time. I remember being really shocked that characters looked so.... strange, and then when the film just ended I got really annoyed. I was considering buying the DVD the other day, just to see if it really was as bad as I remember, but then my father reminded me that I spent a week complaining about the film last time I saw it. I decided to give it a miss for now. <P>I can heartily recommend the BBC Radio version though. Some things are missed out, but I love it.
