I think they are masterpieces of cinema, flawed masterpieces. I remember when Boyens (I think it was her) argued that the film version of 'The Departure of Boromir' was an improvement on the book. I almost cried.<P>Please, if you read this again, reconsider that post, and reply to us on this thread with a more in-depth view of how the film's battles were an improvement.
