Anyone want to venture an opinion why there were so many scenes in the FOTR with an apple or two stuck somewhere in them?Were they supposed to remind us that hobbits love to eat?Were they symbols of the Fall of Man, reminders of the theme of good vs. evil/making the right choice?Were they just a ploy on the part of the New Zealand Agricultural Society to focus on the desirability of their produce?Was PJ just doing some sort of inside fan joke?What's your opinion, and why?
