I'm surprised they got as much as they did into the ending. If you read most non-readers' reactions, they seem to believe that the movie should have ended at the most "Hollywood" point when everyone bowed to the Hobbits. I love that PJ went ahead and included the Grey Havens. It shows an underlying respect for the source, contrary to the naysayers belief. <P><BR>This seems to be a fairly civil forum. I just came over from tolkienonline.com where every single thread becomes yet another war between "Purists and Revisionists". It's pretty tiresome to read the same arguments over and over. It's also sad when people let slight departures ruin the movie experience for them. It's not necessary to love the films, but to continually argue over some hypothetical version is pointless. Short of a 55 hour version, what we got was about as close as could be expected.
