Perphaps he is glad he can get away from Mirkwood (as it is becoming pretty dark,well where I am in the books anyway*ashamed she's not finished with all of them*).As for the tight fitting clothing...I find most archers wear tight clothing(ex:Link from Zelda, a sad example but work with me, even most of my RPG characters that are archers wear tight cloths.I don't know why...They're straight,too by the way.)
