But another reason why I think he <I>NEVER</I> could've mastered it is something Aragorn said (& I already believed),"...The One Ring answers to Sauron alone, It has no other master!" I believe that ONLY Sauron could ever command or master the Ring. But perhaps that's just me, I don't know.
