I mean look at all he got done after he got his finger chopped off! Frodo didn't do too much after he lost his digit! Neither did Beren after he lost his hand. Well, he did father Dior. And don't forget, he was the one you can give major credit for dispoiling Saruman and Denethor and to some extent even poor old Sméagol.
