I actually find them equally irritating, and so skip most of the scenes involving them. One thing I found particularly annoying about Fellowship was Arwen's usurping of Glorfindel's part. Like, I really can't handle the whole warg attack and "death" of Aragorn, and some people thought the scene was well done and enjoyed it.
