Yeah, that's what happens to me too whenever I get to writing. I get bored with character development and jump ahead to the battles or the adventures. It's fun, but tiring when you have to come back and fill the boring but necessary components in. Also, you run the risk of writing incompatibilities into your story. I do it all the time.
