I know that separating all them has an advantage, but I still tend at least to use the [] for grammatical insertions and normalization. We have used this approach already in dealing with the
Fall of Gondolin and it served us right. The more divisions that we use, the harder it will be (for me at least and to people new with the project) to recognize the notations.
I'm ok with the other things, but in all I think that too many notations will disrupt more than help us organize the text.
