Answering your post 343: The Orcs have gone off looking for Elves - somewhere in the vicinity of where Lomarandil was found and dragged in. It doesn't mean they'll find any Elves - since they only have a general idea of the location.
Gromwakh and Snikdul are choosing to remain hidden until the situation sorts itself out, and they can figure out how many of their little group is left and what they should do.
