I must say how much fun I am having discovering this culture and the people in it. There are all sorts of things about this world I did not know: a nearby mountain range (I wonder what they look like up close? Or if anyone lives there?); the apparently widespread use of poison; the ornate nature of decoration; the religious practices, and apparently deep religiousity of the women as compared to the men; the extremely compelling sense of dislocation felt by the
Avari -- not to mention the host of secondary characters fleshing out the tale.
I sure do hope that the banquet begins soon, as I want to see what happens when these people get together!!!
