I have no exact data of figures, but my
impression is that yes, Tolkien gained greater following with Slavic peoples. Muslims I mention in my previous seemed more like an exeption to me, still more both persons I had in mind are well-acquainted with Russian cultural environment.
But, again, I have no statistics to lean on, justs impressions
